School Excursions

Stage 2: Beechworth

On Friday 20th September, Stage 2 travelled to Beechworth for a day excursion.

They started at Beechworth Honey School, where students participated in an interactive experience that explored the workings of beehives, pollination, honey production and more, while developing a deeper understanding of the impact bees have on the environment.

The students then completed two guided walking tours of historic Beechworth. In the first they discovered some of the different cultural groups that lived in Beechworth before and during the Gold Rush. In the second tour, students visited historic locations while listening to stories about famous individuals such as Ned Kelly, Elizabeth Scott and Robert O'Hara Burke.

The day finished in the best way possible - Ice Cream and The Lolly Shop!

Stage 3: Canberra

What a jam packed time our Stage 3 travellers had!

Leaving Junee on the last Monday of Term 3 and arriving back on Wednesday, our students enjoyed the following places and experiences:

  • Museum of Australian Democracy
  • Australian War Memorial
  • Royal Australian Mint
  • National Capital Authority
  • Australian Institute of Sport
  • Australian National Education Centre
  • National Gallery of Australia
  • Parliament House
  • National Arboretum Canberra
  • Ten Pin Bowling
  • Questacon

They all came back full of stories and excitement about how great the whole excursion was. This excursion was subsidised to the value of $30 per student by the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate Program (PACER).

Thank you to all the teachers who accompanied our children and ensured they were happy and cared for. Every parent of our exploring students should feel incredibly proud. Our students were exceptional in their behaviour, manners, thoughtfulness and engagement in the many exciting opportunities offered. We bet they all slept well upon returning!
