Australian Maths Competition

Congratulations to the 202 students who completed the Australian Maths Competition this year. We had 27 students receive a participation award, 47 students receive a proficiency award, 69 students receive a credit award and 39 students receive a distinction award.

Congratulations to the following students who received a high distinction award: Yan Rui Z (6LH), Hayley Z (4CG) and Vu L (5AS).

Special mention to Vu L (5AS) for his best in school certificate as well as Jacob X (4RS) for his best in school certificate and prize award. Jacob and his family will be attending a special awards night on Monday 11th November to celebrate his achievements.

As part of Monsalvat's upcoming Spring Gathering, Eltham Bookshop and Chatterbooks celebrate new book releases by Banyule’s very own students, Max Phillips and Leo Phillips, and The Midwatch by Judith Rossell, Sunday 24th of November from 2.30pm at the Skipper Gallery @ Montsalvat.

Admission is free at the Montsalvat entry gate if you say the password ‘CHATTERBOOKS’.

Both books by the two young authors will be available for purchase.

You are welcome to stay on for Judith Rossell's workshop from 3.00pm to 4.30pm, but you must book in via Eltham Bookshop.

Judith will talk about her book The Midwatch and take you through creative thinking, writing and making activities. This session is for 9-12 year olds and aspiring writers of middle-grade books.

Tickets for the session with Judith are $30 per person, with a copy of The Midwatch or a $15 voucher for Eltham Bookshop, and refreshments too!
