Year 12 Vocational Major wrap up
Term 3 – what a term!
We started out the term with students participating in an excursion to give them real life industry immersion into the world of work within the local area. Students visited Ash Marton Realty in Frankston and were able to tour their impressive work site and engage in learning about the structure of the business, health and wellbeing initiatives to support the employees. They also investigated the opportunities that Negotiated Agreements have as far as wages and conditions of employment. They were provided with a deeper understanding of the dynamics within the real estate sector and the importance of fair workplace practices. We would like to formally acknowledge the effort of Ash Marton and his team in hosting us and putting on an engaging day of learning.
We finished the day participating in some team 10 pin bowling and laser tag at Strike in Frankston, as part of a celebration of completing Unit 3 and as a wellbeing team activity. Students definitely had the best of the staff when it came to both of these events!
Pathways Presentation Evening
Presentation Evening was a huge success and rounded out our year in VCE VM. Students attended with parents and invited guests and presented their carefully prepared portfolios and presentations, which highlighted their personal pathway journeys—past, present, and future. Each presentation was a testament to the dedication and effort the students have put into their studies and career exploration. It was inspiring to see how they articulated their experiences and aspirations, showcasing not only their skills but also their growth and development over the year.
The event fostered a strong sense of community, with attendees engaging in meaningful conversations about the students' journeys and the opportunities that lie ahead.
Looking Forward
As we wrap up this year in VCE VM, we are excited about the potential futures that our students are poised to pursue. The skills and insights they’ve gained throughout the program will serve as a solid foundation for their next steps, whether in further education or entering the workforce.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended and contributed to making the Presentation Evening such a memorable occasion. Your support plays a vital role in our students’ success, and we look forward to another year of growth and achievement!
We would also like to acknowledge the support of employers in hosting students for Work Placements and SBATs across the year. Without your commitment, our students would not be able to complete their course and incorporate real life learning experiences.
