Year 12 Valedictory Dinner
Our Year 12 Class of 2024 celebrated their graduation with a Valedictory Dinner at the City Bowls Club on Friday 18th October. Below are some photos from the event. We are very proud of our Year 12's achievements and wish them all the best for their final Exams.
Year 7
Beach Clean Up
During the sunshine last week, Year 7 participated in a beach clean up along Levi's Beach. This was to conclude the detailed research that the English class undertook on ocean awareness, specifically with relation to microplastics and nurdles. The students found some very interesting pieces which are currently being made into an art piece by some exceptionally creative members of the class.

Year 9 - 11 Bega Factory Visit
Last week, students from Year 9 - 11 visited the Bega factory in Koroit. Bega opened their doors as part of an open day to make students aware of the many career opportunities that exist in the dairy industry. This will hopefully inspire them to remain in the South West region by opening their eyes to the range of possibilities of employment within the dairy and manufacturing space. Thanks to Kath Haworth for organising this trip.

Year 10 English
Year 10 students had the extraordinary opportunity to meet with award-winning writer Jock Serong, author of our class text On the Java Ridge, at the Warrnambool Library during English class last week. Students shared their thoughts on his novel and had the opportunity to ask him questions about this thought-provoking story. Jock Serong's novels have received the ARA Historical Novel Prize, the Colin Roderick Award, the Ned Kelly Award for First Fiction, and internationally, the inaugural Staunch Prize (UK) and the Historia Award for Historical Crime Fiction (France).

VCE VM Field Trips
Westvic Staffing Solutions
On Monday 21st October, the VCE VM team headed out to Warrnambool Westvic Staffing Solutions to experience what it's like applying for a job and going through the whole process of a job interview. The WSS team provided each and every VM student the time to express who they are as people, answer questions, and provide feedback. Overall it was an experience that really benefited each student. We definitely enjoyed it and think it was a helpful experience. - Bridie M (Year 11)
On Friday October 25th, the VCE VM crew went to Westvic Staffing Solutions to attend mock interviews. It was a really great opportunity and an even better experience. I would definitely recommend trying out mock interviews for anyone wanting to experience what a job interview is like (if you haven’t already). I thought it was really good, wasn’t nerve-racking, and was a great experience to try something new for myself. - Kayla J (Year 11)
Lighthouse Theatre
On Monday 28th October, the VM class went to the Lighthouse Theatre, where Meg, who was the lovely lady showing us around, showed us all the jobs and what's involved at the theatre. It was cool to see what the theatre looks like throughout the building as I've never seen what it looks like before. It was also really interesting to hear about all the different jobs such a, lighting and sound, electrics, costume, mechanists (backstage hands), and the casual front house which works with customers and customer service. Was a good time and very well presented. - Kayla J (Year 11)
