Principal's Update

2025 Fee Schedule

I am writing to inform you about an upcoming adjustment to our school fees, which will see a modest increase of 3%. We understand that any change in fees can raise questions, and we want to take a moment to explain the rationale behind this decision.

This increase is essential for maintaining the high standard of education and support we provide to our students. Over the past year, we have made several enhancements to our curriculum, invested in new learning resources, and improved our facilities to ensure a safe and stimulating environment. The costs associated with these improvements, as well as wage increases and general inflation, have prompted us to adjust our fees slightly.

The additional funds will directly contribute to:

1. Enhanced Resources: We are committed to providing the best educational tools and technologies. This increase will help us acquire updated materials and resources that enrich our students’ learning experiences.

2. Staff Development: Our dedicated teachers are our greatest asset. A portion of the fee increase will support professional development opportunities, ensuring our educators remain at the forefront of teaching excellence.

3. Facilities Maintenance & Upgrades: To maintain a safe and inviting environment, we continuously invest in our facilities. This includes ongoing maintenance and improvements that benefit all students.

Consumable charges represent the direct cost of providing stationary, curriculum resources, as well as camps and excursions. These charges vary by year level depending on the cost of specific camps. A copy of the 2025 fee schedule is available on our website.

PTFA Leadership Team Nominations

We extend our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to our current PTFA Leadership Team, whose dedication has been instrumental in reestablishing our PTFA following the challenges of COVID-19. Under PTFA rules, each leadership term lasts three years, and as all current members are set to complete their terms at the end of 2024, we are now seeking nominations for the new leadership team.

We invite the school community to consider nominating individuals for the following positions:

  • President – Oversees PTFA activities and ensures alignment with its mission

  • Vice President – Provides general support and acts on behalf of the President when needed

  • Secretary – Manages meeting minutes, correspondence, and other essential documentation

  • Treasurer – Maintains the financial records and budgets for PTFA, particularly in support of key events

The PTFA exists to foster fellowship among parents, facilitate school-related discussions, fundraise for school projects and equipment, and provide services to our school community, such as organising working bees.

If you are passionate about supporting our school and fostering community spirit, please consider nominating for one of these roles. Nominations should be submitted via this form to the Principal’s office by Friday 29th November 4PM.

Your involvement can make a real difference, and we would love to see new faces in our PTFA leadership. Thank you for your continued support!

Warrnambool Food Drive

King’s College is excited to be participating in the Western District Foodshare 2024 Warrnambool Food Drive. We currently have Food Share bins around the school, which the VCE VM students are collecting items from and delivering to Western District Foodshare once a fortnight.

You can help out by donating non-perishable food items to our Food Share bins and/or help with the Food Drive on November 3rd.

On November 3rd, our Food Drive volunteers will be collecting Food Share bags and dropping them off at the Warrnambool Baptist Church in Koroit Street. We would love to see you there.

Groups of 4-5 people are a great number to aim for if you’d like to get some people together for this. If you don’t have a group you can just turn up on the day and be placed in one. It’s a lovely way to help out those who struggle with meeting day to day basic needs like putting food on the table for their family, especially coming up to the Christmas season.
