Hi all

It was definitely a big week in sport

Monday

Lucy G, Alyssa, Lucy B, Jack V, Jagger D and Gabe N travelled to Casey Fields to compete in the South Metro Region Athletics.  This is one step away from state and the South Metro is considered a very strong region.  Lucy G, Alyssa and Lucy B finished in the top two and will now compete in the Victorian State finals in November.  Thank you to all of the families for the support you have given in the journey.

Tuesday

20 girls travelled to Moorabbin for the Little Saints Cup.  It's an all girls event that promotes women's footy.  It is super well organised and the girls also get to meet AFLW stars and compete in a half time dance off.  St Louis has played in this event for two successful years and were chasing a "three-peat".   But it wasn't to be this year with the Year 6s as they finished a narrow second.  Our Year 5s finished an very competitive 5th out of the ten teams.  The future is looking bright.

Wednesday

The mixed Hot Shot Tennis team travelled to the Maccabi Tennis Club for the Kingston Division finals.  Our team doesn't play comp tennis outside of school but they have practiced and improved their game through the P.E. program and extra sessions.  The team event format plays 8 singles and 4 doubles games and we won our 2 matches 10 to 2 and 9 to 3.  They will now play in the South Metro Region Finals in November.  Well done lads.

Thursday

Our mixed volleyball travelled to Jubilee Park Stadium with Ms Summers for the Kingston Division finals.  They played well but came up against very well drilled opposition and were unable to make the grand final.  Thank you to all of the parents for getting the team there and back.  I love the way our community network to ensure no one misses out on these events.  It is real strength of our school and we appreciate your efforts dearly.

Friday

Our summer interschool sports started up again with an away game v Aspendale PS.  The local derby is an easy one as we get to walk to the venues and a lot of the kids know each other.  We played kickball, blasters cricket, basketball and volleyball for more wins than losses.  It's a good morning out as kids get to compete in a well organised space with sportsmanship valued over results.  The 2024 Year 6 cohort has an amazing bunch of kids both on and off the field, and they just keep getting better.

Yours in sport
