Remembrance Day

At 11am on November 11, we paused to honour our service personnel who died or suffered in service of Australia. This year, we held a Remembrance Day service in the Hall as a whole school. Thank you to those who were able to join us for the service, including our military families.

Thank you to special guests, Mr Daniel Stanbrook, Vicar Sean Hotinski, and to our School Captains, Elyssa Addo and Thomas Awad for their input into the service, Amelia Maitland for laying our wreath and to Mr Buxton for playing the trumpet.

Most of all, thank you to our service personnel for their work, whether that be in war, conflicts, peace and humanitarian operations, or here at home.

Picnic @ Pauls

Thank you to all families who joined our community for Picnic @ Pauls last Friday. The weather was wonderful for all sorts of activities and for valuable conversation amongst our parents, children and staff members. I especially want to thank:

  • Beat the bucket staff members: Graham Buxton, Jess Robinson, Karly Bartlett, Karly Voigt, Lucy Bakewell and Tayla Sheahan (and the Year 5 children who also took a turn!)
  • Shannen Dixon for her face painting
  • Kylie Koleman from St Paul Lutheran Church for hosting the playgroup area
  • Katherine Pasilidis, Jess Deer, Mike Kroon and Bec Mattner for running the barbeque
  • All staff members and volunteers who worked tirelessly to set up and support with activities
  • All parents who supported with packing up at the end of the evening

This event was a great way to celebrate what has been a fabulous year as a whole-school community!

LLL Bursaries for Fee Support

The Lutheran Laypeoples League has announced the provision of an LLL Bursary Grant from the commencement of the 2025 school year with the guiding principle to provide the opportunity for as many students as possible to attend a Lutheran school who would otherwise be precluded from doing so due to financial hardship.

The bursary grants are intended to be awarded for a maximum of six years but reviewed on an annual basis to ensure financial need remains and the recipient continues to contribute broadly and positively to the life of the school.  They are prioritised to those children entering the traditional primary and secondary intake years, that is, the first year of formal primary schooling or the first year of secondary school.  The grants are to cover up to 50% of the annual tuition fee (exclusive of camps and levies) up to a maximum of $5,000.

Only applications received prior to Sunday 24 November 2024 will be considered by the assessment panel with notifications to the school and applicants expected in early December.
