Art

This term has been an exciting one in the art room, especially for our Grade 1 and Grade 4 students, who have completed some truly impressive ceramic artworks.

Our creative Grade 1 artists rolled up their sleeves to craft delightful ceramic snails. They learned how to roll even slabs and skilfully join coils to shape the snail’s body and shell. After firing, the students carefully added metallic paint, bringing their snails to life with vibrant, shimmering colours. These snails showcase their newfound skills in ceramic techniques and have truly brought a touch of sparkle to our art displays!

Meanwhile, our imaginative Grade 4 students took inspiration from the surreal world of Salvador Dalí, particularly his famous “melting clocks.” They sculpted unique, creatively "melted" clock shapes, each one bending and flowing in different directions. Once fired, they too used metallic paint to add an eye-catching finish. The clocks are wonderfully whimsical, with each one telling its own story of time bending and flowing in unexpected ways.

Students have been bringing these amazing pieces home this past week, I hope you enjoy them on display at home as much as I have during their creation.

Thank you for supporting our young artists!
