The week that was in Prep!

Maths

This week in Maths, we’ve been busy consolidating our learning about location and direction. Students had an exciting hands-on session where they guided their blindfolded peers using directional language such as “turn left,” “go straight,” and “take two steps back.” It was wonderful to see their teamwork and listening skills in action!  We’ve also been exploring multiplicative thinking with some engaging and fun activities, helping students build a strong foundation for grouping and repeated addition. It’s been an exciting time in Maths, and the students have been eager to share their learning with one another!

Literacy

Our Prep students have been working hard to finish their Imaginary Animal Posters! They’ve shown creativity and enthusiasm, and we’ve been practising our presenting skills to confidently share our imaginative ideas with others.  

Imaginary Animal Exhibition

Excitement is building as we complete our animal sculptures by painting and adding final touches. We are thrilled to invite family and friends to our Imaginary Animal Exhibition on Monday, 25th November, from 2:30 to 3:30 pm in the Prep classrooms. We can’t wait to share our creations with you!  

Ball Skills

A big thank you to our Year 5 buddies, who have been teaching us essential ball skills like throwing, catching, bouncing, and rolling. The Prep students are loving the opportunity to build their coordination and teamwork while having lots of fun!  

Reminders

• Warm Weather: With the weather warming up, please ensure your child is dressed appropriately, including a school hat for outdoor activities.  
• Uniform: We’ve noticed some students not wearing the correct school uniform. Please ensure your child is in full uniform. If you need clarification or to purchase uniform items, please see your classroom teacher or visit the front office.  
• Assembly Time Change: Assemblies will now begin at 9:10 am instead of 9:00 am to allow rolls to be marked correctly.
