Year 9 City Excursion

Creating Futures Together

A group of selected Year 9 students who expressed interest in going to the city went on an excursion where they were given opportunities to enjoy foods they may not normally try often. Students first explored the unique street art on Hosier Lane before heading to the ACMI Museum where they explored the exhibits that gave students further insight into the history of sights and sounds both in games and cinema. Students were immersed in various activities that allowed them to further understand what happens in the background leading up to the final product of a movie, game or tv episode.

Students then participated in a food scavenger hunt where they took photos of various landmarks in Melbourne as well as photos trying out the various foods assigned to them. Many students have posted photos of the smorgasbord of food options we are fortunate to have in the city.

Students then submitted photos of their achievements to Mr Steele and Mr Yong in order to determine the winner of the event. Congratulations to the following:

3rd: Kees, Riley, Marcus, Hayden and Dimos

2nd: Isabelle, Jacinta, Abby, Alyssa, Alexa and Thomas

1st: Tilly, Layla, Roselyn, Zoe, Stella and Nicola

Overall students demonstrated exemplary behaviour and upheld the school values throughout the day.  It was great to see the Year 9s having fun in the CBD.
