This year, we had 28 Year 3s and 27 Year 5s participate in Maths Games, 29 Year 4s in Maths Explorer, and 13 Year 5s and 30 Year 6s in Maths Olympiad.

Excitingly, OGPS was awarded a certificate for achieving a score in the top 25% of team scores in the Junior Division Maths Olympiad! All of our students did extremely well and should be very proud of their efforts.

Maths Olympiad - an inter-school competition that has been specifically designed to stimulate and challenge high potential and high achieving students.

Maths Games focuses on teaching students to think laterally and creatively when solving mathematically-based problems and highlights the fact that there may be multiple ways to reach a solution.

The Maths Explorer program develops skills and knowledge in maths problem solving and prepares students for the challenges of the Maths Games and/or the Maths Olympiad in later years. Students collaborate with their peers and work together to make decisions about the way they explore a problem.
