What to know about the excursion days
On both excursions, the bus will be leaving by 8.55am so we are asking that students arrive at school at around 8:30am. We will make an announcement when it is time to come inside, so we can get ready to walk to the bus together.
The excursion will be going ahead no matter the weather. If rain is forecast, please pack a raincoat (no umbrellas please!) and sunscreen if the weather is warm. Students must be in full school uniform including a school hat.
Students need a small backpack that they will carry around all day. It needs their snack/lunch and water bottle. Please do not pack any heavy thermoses or mega big bottles as the students must carry them around for the day. Students do not need their reading folders on the excursion days or their normal school bags. No students will be allowed to buy a souvenir or food – so do not pack any money for them.
Hayfever season – please let us know if your child suffers from any hayfever or asthma symptoms, as the weather warms up and the grass begins to grow. It helps us manage their symptoms and have any anti-histamines ready for them, should it be windy or a high pollen count day. Especially farm and zoo.
It is coming up to the time of year where we are discussing Year One. We find that it is helpful to talk about it with your child at home as well. Once Year One teachers are announced we will begin to introduce the children to them with photos and social stories to help prepare them. Students will have their Year One transition day on Friday 13th December.
Please notify your child’s classroom teacher via email and in advance if your children will not be attending the last weeks of school due to family holidays etc. This helps us plan our activities for the rest of the term. This will also need to be updated in Compass.
We have said farewell (for now) to our gorgeous Mrs Pring as she sets off on a new adventure! We look forward to hearing all about baby Pring once they arrive earth side.
Stepping into 0LP we are lucky to have the lovely Mrs Julie Hall. You will be seeing her around lots as we finish out the term, so here is a photo for you to put a face to the name if you haven’t already.
The Vermont Views magazine is available for purchase for $15. This is a great keepsake of 'the year that was' and a fun way to track your child's journey through their school years. The magazine has every 2024 class included, special items from the specialist subjects, and a reflection from the student leaders and the Principals.
Orders can now be placed through the Compass Parent Portal, under the Shop Menu. To access the Shop Menu from the app, click the ‘More’ button at bottom right of screen. Then click on the 'Shop' tile.
If you would like to purchase a copy, you will need to do it before it closes on the 6th of December 2024.
