What a busy few weeks we have had at Vermont Primary School! With the extra long weekend last week, November seems to be marching away so quickly. With only 5 more weeks to go, there are still so many exciting events to come, so be sure to keep on top of notifications about what's happening around the school.
We would like to give a HUGE congratulations to all the students who participated in the First Lego League competition on Wednesday this week who not only represented themselves and the school with pride, but all three of our teams were successful in moving through to the National rounds. Our three teams, 'The Rising Tides', 'Flamingo Rhapsody' and 'Free Range Chickens' made a clean sweep of the awards, being acknowledged not only for their building and coding skills, but for their teamwork, core values and presentation. All three teams have the opportunity to participate in the National Competition being held at Macquarie University in Sydney on December 1st. We wish all those students participating the very best of luck. Who knows, we may see a VPS Team on the international stage in Paris at the following round! We would like to acknowledge the incredible work from our Digital Technologies teacher, Mic who has coached the teams this year.
We have been working very hard on creating classes for 2025, and thank all parents who submitted any special requests to teachers by the due date. While this process still has some way to go until it is completed, we can confirm our Class Structure for next year. The magazine has every 2024 class included, special items from the specialist subjects, and a reflection from the student leaders and the Principals.
Orders can now be placed through the Compass Parent Portal, under the Shop Menu. To access the Shop Menu from the app, click the ‘More’ button at bottom right of screen. Then click on the 'Shop' tile.

Another amazing celebration of our wonderful VPS students was highlighted in the ART Show that was held last Thursday. There were over 2000 pieces of art on show. Every student had at least 2 pieces with some extras due to the amazing display of clay models, ducks and portraits! We also had performances from dancers, singers and Rock Bands. It was a treat for all. Thank you to Mrs Rosier for organising these.
We would like to say a huge thank you to our amazing students, particularly the ART Captains Cloris and Jessica for their help. A special congratulations to Mrs Merri Simpson who worked tirelessly for weeks to prepare for the show. In addition we had additional staff and some parents in our school community who assisted. We thank them for all of their support in what was a huge display.
