Music Concert - Recorder

Congratulations are due to the HPS recorder players who participated in the Recorder Students' Spectacular in Kew on Saturday 16 November, contributing to a program of music ranging widely in both style and era, in an inspiring venue, to a generous audience (who also provided an amazing afternoon tea)! Thank you to all the recorder families who came along.

On the evening of Monday 25 November, HPS came alive to the sounds of music as the school’s instrumental teachers – drums, guitar, piano and recorder – ran one of four end-of-year concerts in venues around the school.

The Summer Recorder Recital was held in the Library, where a packed audience of peers and families enjoyed the varied program of group- and individual-lesson recorder pieces. The recorder ensemble playing was a highlight for many. It was great to see students presenting their items with concentration, confidence and pleasure.

We are hugely thankful for this opportunity – to Principal Naomi Ivers for making the musical extravaganza possible, especially setting up and bumping out the venues, to all the HPS staff for supporting the instrumental programs throughout the year, to the families who attended, creating such a warm audience, as well as helping pack up the chairs, and to the performers! We are extremely lucky to have a school community such as HPS’s!

Happy music making!

Fiona Walters, Recorder Tutor

🥳🎓YEAR 6 GRADUATION🎓🥳

The Grade 6 teachers have started to plan our children’s graduation ceremony.

We are looking at ways the parents could be involved to make this celebration extra special.

Do you have a skill or talent that you wish to offer for graduation? i.e. DJ skills or equipment, amateur or professional photography, talent for decorations, cookie/cake baking or making mementos/keepsakes?

We will need a few volunteers to arrive at least 20mins prior to the ceremony to help setup tables. This is before the students and families arrive.

If you would like to volunteer please let me know. You can contact me via Facebook, or message me on 0402 590 130. Angela
