Each newsletter we share a little bit about different members of our fabulous Ivanhoe Edge Coaching Team.

She is passionate about nurturing each dancer’s unique potential, drawing on a diverse curriculum that reflects the demands of today’s dance industry.

Kristy's background spans over two decades of professional dance and teaching experience.

She trained full-time for six years at the Victorian College of the Arts, specialising in a variety of dance styles. Her television credits include ‘In Melbourne Tonight’, ‘It Takes 2’, and ‘Hey Hey it’s Saturday’.

In addition to her professional work, she has taught at numerous dance schools for over 20 years, currently serving as assistant senior coach at Merinda Calisthenics College, working with the youth program at The Australian Ballet School, and running her own weekly ballet, classes.

Ivanhoe Edge is delighted to have someone of Kirsty's talents teaching and mentoring future Dance students in our elite program.

Archie Franklin

Archie graduated from Ivanhoe Grammar in 2023 and has stayed involved ever since through coaching football including year 8, 9 and first XVIII.

Currently studying Sport and Exercise Science at La Trobe University, he completed his ASCA Level 1 in Strength and Conditioning.

Archie says:

Being part of the Edge program has been a great way to apply what I’m learning in a real-world environment, as well as develop my skills as a coach.

At Edge, Archie works as a Strength and Conditioning Coach.

He assists in running strength and speed session for students across a range of year levels. Archie's role involves helping students improve their strength, movement quality, and overall physical literacy through structured, age-appropriate training. He says:

The sessions are both challenging and enjoyable, with a strong focus on long-term development.

One of the best parts of the longevity of an Ivanhoe Grammar School education, is the way our old grammarians embrace helping the next generation of Ivanhoe students be the best they can be. Glad to have you on the team Archie.
