Co-Curricular - Senior Sport

Once again, the weather disrupted so much of SPC sport last Saturday, which is a reminder that every opportunity to wear the Blue, Black and Gold is a privilege and an honour. We were lucky to have some Football games go ahead. Thank you to all those who braved the rain to support and participate.
Football
It was a pleasure to see the SPC 2 and Mason Park fixtures go ahead. Well done to the SPC Footballers for taking the opportunity to play with both hands and making every effort in the rain. The 16As started the day with a strong victory over St Spyridon College, which was followed up by a fantastic contest between SPC Second XI and SPC Third XI. The Seconds prevailed with 2 goals to nil, but the Thirds are to be commended for the intestinal fortitude they demonstrated. The First XI continued their dominance with an 8-goal victory over Central Coast Grammar School, all A teams that played were successful, and a special shout-out to the Fourth XI who had a gutsy win over Oxley College’s First XI.

We must extend our congratulations to Alessandro Piccin on his outstanding achievement. Not only was he a part of the NSW Football Schoolboys team who were crowned National Champions, but he has also been selected in the All-Australian Schoolboys Team.
This is a remarkable accomplishment, and we are extremely proud of Alessandro and what he has achieved—a fantastic moment for both him and the St Patrick’s College community.

Back to Breen Day
This week, we take on the might of Knox Grammar in what promises to be an epic day of Rugby, community, and school spirit. For some of our students, it will be their final time taking the field at Breen Oval — so let’s make it one to remember!
We are excited to inform you that the FirstXV match will be professionally streamed via NSW Rugby TV, so that you won’t miss a moment.
Bring the energy, wear your colours proudly, fill the stands, get loud and support your mates as we represent our College with pride!
Let’s pack Breen Oval and show what Blue, Black and Gold is all about — because Blue, Black and Gold Never Fold!
Important Update: Venue Change for Semi Finals
Due to recent changes, all teams that were previously scheduled to play at Charles Sturt University have now been relocated to Fitz Oval at St Stanislaus' College, Bathurst.

Congratulations are in order for Vincent Pappalardo! (Year 10). Vincent had a great tournament at the School Sports Australia Aquatic Games in Brisbane last week. He won gold in the 15-16 Years Boys and Mixed Synchronised, silver in 15 Years Boys Springboard, bronze in 14 Years Boys Knockout, and placed fourth in 15-16 Years Boys Platform. Well done, Vincent, we are all very proud of you.
