Welcome back to what’s already shaping up to be a vibrant and exciting Term 3! We hope everyone enjoyed a restful break and is feeling refreshed and ready for all that lies ahead.
We warmly welcome Mrs Henderson to our Office Team. We’re also excited to welcome Elijah (FA), his brother Judah (2/3Q), and Balen (3H) and their families to POPS. As always, we know our school community will make them feel right at home.
This term is packed with rich learning experiences and memorable events that promise to keep our students engaged, challenged, and inspired. From Athletics Day and Book Week to camps and excursions, there will be plenty of opportunities for fun, discovery, and connection. We can’t wait to see our students embrace all that Term 3 has to offer!
Preparations are well underway for a very special event, the visit from our Sister School, Jinling Primary School. We’re excited to welcome their students, along with Madame Lin (Executive Principal) and Mr Peng (Principal), who arrive on Monday, July 28 in the afternoon. A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful host families, Lin, Palmer, Hartley, Kirkness, Theobald and Dixon, for supporting this cultural exchange.
Throughout the week, our visitors will join in everyday school life at POPS, participating in literacy, maths, performing arts and visual arts classes. They’ll also take part in our House Athletics and enjoy a cucina session with Mrs Moore, always a student favourite!
On Wednesday, our school and vice captains, selected students, Mrs Bian and I will represent POPS at the Department of Education’s Sister School Welcome Event at the MCG. This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the strong connection between Victoria and Jiangsu Province.
This visit marks the beginning of reestablishing our close relationship with Jinling PS, and we are proud to be part of such a meaningful exchange.
The visit will conclude with a Farewell Assembly on Friday, August 1 at 2:30pm in the gym. The assembly will feature performances from our Foundation students, a Lion Dance by senior students, a performance from our Jinling guests, and a special appearance by the POPS Choir. There will also be speeches and a gift exchange to honour the friendship between our schools.
We warmly invite families and community members to join us for this memorable celebration.
