Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

We are thrilled to announce that our Biennial School Concert is just around the corner! Mark your calendars for Wednesday, 27th August —a night that promises music, talent, laughter, and most importantly, togetherness.

This year's concert, "Wonka", features performances from students across all year levels, showcasing weeks of dedication, creativity, and teamwork. From our Preps to Year 6 and our beautiful school choir our students are ready to shine on stage.

But this event is about more than just performances—it’s a celebration of community.

In a time when busy schedules and digital distractions can keep us apart, community events like the school concert offer a valuable opportunity to come together, share in joyful moments, and strengthen the bonds that make our school family so special. These events foster pride, build friendships, and remind our students that they are supported by a wider circle of care.

TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE! If you haven’t done so already, be sure to grab your tickets now—there are still some available, but they’re going fast! Tickets can be purchased online via trybooking  https://www.trybooking.com/DCYDK.

Let’s fill Crossways with song, smiles, and school spirit. We can’t wait to see you there, cheering on our talented students and celebrating what makes our community so vibrant.

PFA

A huge shout-out to Melanie Harper and all the amazing PFA parent helpers (Lina, Verina,  Yamunali, Diane, Anne, Yuly, Asanka & Terri) for making yesterday's Pie and Sausage Roll Lunch such a resounding success! Based on the fantastic response we received, it’s clear that the event was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated P&F volunteers who generously give up their time to organise fun and engaging events like this, all while raising much-needed funds to support our school. Your efforts truly make a difference – thank you!

Thank you to all our families for using the supervised crossing before and after school — your support has made a real difference in keeping our students safe.

The safety of our school community is always our top priority. We remind everyone to:

  • Always use the supervised crossing when walking to and from school.
  • Drive slowly and cautiously in the carparks and surrounding streets.
  • Avoid unsafe shortcuts, such as crossing in unsupervised areas.

Let’s continue to work together to keep our school environment safe for all children and families. Your care and vigilance are greatly appreciated.

All families are warmly invited to attend the whole school Mass at 9:15am tomorrow to celebrate the Feast of St Mary MacKillop.

Kind regards,

Alyce Lowther
