Principals' Report

Dear Families,
On Tuesday this week, we had the pleasure of welcoming our Grandparents and special visitors to St. Patrick’s School. It was a wonderful morning of sharing, connection, and celebration.
The day began at 10am with visits to classrooms, where students proudly shared their learning. This was followed by a delicious morning tea in the hall, accompanied by beautiful performances from our Senior and Junior Choirs. A special thank you to Mrs Williams for coordinating the students for this occasion.
Following morning tea, we gathered in the church for a special Mass celebration. We are grateful to Fr Justin, our Parish Priest, for leading the Mass, and to Mrs Ady, our Religious Education Leader, for her thoughtful planning and preparation.
As we gathered in celebration, we were reminded of the important role grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren—offering wisdom, love, and faith. Fittingly, last week the Church also honoured Saints Joachim and Anne, the grandparents of Jesus. Their example reminds us of the deep faith and devotion that grandparents pass on through generations.
I would also like to acknowledge the generous contributions of our Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 families for providing the morning tea. Thank you to our Parents and Friends Association, led by Helen Collins, for their support in preparing the hall, serving tea and coffee, and assisting with the clean-up.
It was a joyful and memorable occasion for all involved.
Protective Behaviours and Sex Ed
This term St. Patrick's School will be providing classroom sessions for students (Prep - Year 6) centred around protective behaviours. These include: keeping ourselves safe, body parts and listening to what our body is telling us.
Our presenter and facilitator is Mrs. Sue Pain who has worked extensively at St. Patrick's School over the past few years. Protective behaviours sessions will be held in Week 5 and Week 6 of this term during the school day.
Attached below is a more indepth description of content presented at school.
There will also be an online parent and family sessions for Sex Ed.

New Playground Update
Our new playground is nearing completion and should be ready for use tomorrow (Friday)!
Mr Speranza and I met with the SRC today to discuss how the new space would be used. We all agreed that both of our new playgrounds should be open to all students.
To reflect this change, we will be renaming the two playgrounds as the Mitchell Street Playground and the Childers Street Playground. From next week, all students will be welcome to play on either playground during both Recess and Lunch.
The Gaga pit will continue with the schedule of Year 3 & 4 at Recess and Year 5 & 6 at Lunch.
We’re excited to see our students enjoying these fantastic new spaces!
School Closure Day for Term 3
My apologies for the confusion around the school closure day in Term 3. The correct date is Monday 25th August. Out of hours care will operate on this day on site.
