Principal's Report
Kaylene Kubeil
As we reach the midpoint of the year, the holiday break is a wonderful opportunity to relax, recharge, and enjoy some 'downtime'. After a busy and productive first half of the year, taking time to rest is important not only for our students but also for families and, of course, our hard-working staff. Whether you're travelling or spending time at home, this holiday is a chance to relax, reset and return feeling refreshed. We wish everyone a safe, happy, and enjoyable holiday and look forward to an even more amazing Semester Two!

Semester Reports are now available and provide a snapshot of your child's learning, progress, and achievements throughout the semester. We encourage families to read the report together, celebrate successes, and discuss goals for future learning. We are proud of the effort and growth shown by all students and thank families for their continued support. If you have any questions about your child's report, please contact their classroom teacher. I have also shared the following Family Communication letter, which outlines variations to these Semester reports.

I want to make you aware of advice received from the Department of Education regarding protected industrial action being undertaken by members of the Australian Education Union (AEU), commencing on Monday, 13 July 2026 (Day 1 of Term 3) and continuing until further notice. The industrial action may involve a range of activities by participating staff. At this stage, we do not anticipate any immediate disruption to student learning programs or supervision. However, some school operations and communications may be affected while the industrial action remains in place.
The Department has stated that staff must continue to meet their obligations relating to:
Occupational health and safety responsibilities
The Department has also reminded staff that students should not be involved in, or asked to participate in, matters relating to the industrial dispute. As we work through the implications for our school, we will continue to assess potential impacts and communicate directly with families should any changes affect students, reporting processes, or school operations. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.
Over the holiday break, we will be installing our tiered garden bed in front of the Year 34A classroom. This will not only provide a far more appealing space but also eliminate the hazard posed by a very slippery slope leading down to our new ramp area. In addition, we will be very close to having our GAGA PIT area ready for installation. Some minor painting (touch-ups) will be taking place in some of our older classrooms. Lastly, we are very excited that sheer curtains will be installed, providing the finishing touch to the upgrades in our beautiful sensory space. We cannot wait to share some photos of these works.
