The Year 10 Art Class is our largest group this year choosing to explore their creativity through Art.
So far this semester the students explored abstract acrylic painting, completed a written analysis and learned some basic water colour techniques, producing some interesting night sky paintings.
We are just starting a printmaking unit, using Gelli printing plates.
The abstract artworks came out really well and are currently on display in the senior Art room. They look fantastic en masse like that!
I am looking forward to seeing what else they produce as they continue to explore a range of media and techniques through the rest of the semester.
Our Art & Technology Showcase in November will provide the community an opportunity see the fantastic results up close.
The VCE Art Creative Practice class visited the city last week to attend two exhibitions – ‘Triennial’, at the NGV International and ‘Top Arts’ at NGV Australia.
As always, Top Art is a wonderful opportunity for students to see the heights of just what is possible for students undertaking VCE art subjects.
Hopefully the wide range of themes, ideas, media and techniques showcased in both of these exhibition will provide inspiration for our students as they work towards their own final folio artworks.
