Thank you to all the families and friends who joined us last week for our Holy Week Liturgy. It was a solemn occasion that retold the events of Holy Week. A special thank you to all the teachers who helped prepare their students for the occasion.
We are now in the liturgical season of Easter. The Easter season is fifty days from the Sunday of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ to Pentecost Sunday.
The Vatican has released Pope Francis' reflection of Easter. It is linked here for your enjoyment. LINK
Students in Year 3 and higher who have not received their First Holy Communion are welcome to complete this sacrament this year. The Holy Family Parish has confirmed the date for Sunday 8 September. The time for this event has not been confirmed. Students will prepare for this sacrament at school with Miss Siapkas, Mrs Smithson, Father Allan and Father Rafael. More information about this special occasion will be shared with parents later in the year.
All students in Year Six will be able to complete the Sacrament of Confirmation this year. The Bishop’s office has confirmed that this will take place in the Holy Family Church on October 31th at 6:00 pm. Students will complete the preparation for this sacrament in class with Mr Brett and the help of Father Allan and Father Rafael.
Projection Compassion season has finally come to an end! A huge thank you to every family of St Aidan’s for their continued generosity and support. Without your help all our initiatives would not have been as successful and most importantly, we would not have been able to raise $1869! This is the most the St Aidan’s community has ever raised, it is an incredible effort!
Throughout each unit of work in Religion, students get the opportunity to explore scripture passages. Year 4 enjoyed exploring the Stations of the Cross through various activities which included artmaking, lego and playdough.
Have a safe and happy holiday!
