Happy Easter!

On this last day of Term 1 and as we continue to travel the road of Holy Week, we take a moment to reflect on the great feasts we are about to commemorate and to wish you all a very blessed, happy and holy Easter.

Last Tuesday we celebrated our annual Easter Liturgy.  Our staff and students were participants in the procession of the cross through the College grounds and into the Bro Leo Scollen Stadium.

Once gathered we commemorated in word, action, song and silence the Easter mysteries:  the life, death and Resurrection of Jesus.  However, it wasn’t just a commemoration or remembering; rather it was a profound invitation to enter into the Christ-life and see and feel the passion of the Crucifixion and the glory of the Resurrection.  It was, for many present, a deep and profound spiritual and spirit-filled Liturgy of the Word.

As we approach another Holy Week, let’s continue to pray for each other and for our families and communities, that we may, in our daily living, live – die – rise as we continue to follow our call to be the face of Christ in our world.

What an amazing term that has come to an end, marking the beginning of well-deserved holidays.

A term packed with vibrant colours and enthusiasm. Our Harmony Day festivities were truly a representation of who we are as a College, all the different cultures and traditions coming together as one to be one was just amazing. Thank you all for putting in the effort to dress up and making the day the best it could be. St Patrick’s day was also a great success with raffles and fundraising that brought our community together. This added some green to our school as well 😊.

All of this was followed by our Easter Liturgy.  This gathering gave time for us to pause and reflect on the persecution, death and resurrection of Jesus and how it relates to our modern lifestyle today. This prayer time gave us insight on the ethical issues and decisions that we make in our day to day lives that shape us as individuals. It was a great time to acknowledge the passion of Christ while also honouring the suffering that we go through as individuals.

Our Year 12 Cohort had the time and opportunity at our recent Year 12 Retreat to reflect on our lives and ourselves; to ask the bigger questions and learn the bigger lessons in life. It made us explore and understand the challenges of adulthood, and carefully navigate through them with guidance. It gave us time to reconnect, strengthen and form new friendships and bonds which are vital for us this year. It made us realise the importance of fellowship and community that makes us belong. I am sure it will be a time that we all will look back and have a smile about.

I am sure this is a time to rest and recharge, to start a new term with positivity and enthusiasm. Looking forward to seeing you all next term with lots of smiles.

Have a happy and blessed Easter ♱.
