Conduct on Public Transport

We often get many positive reports of student behaviour in the general public, however occasionally some students let the College community down.

I take this opportunity to remind students of appropriate behaviour when travelling to and from the College. When using public transport students should:

  • Present their Opal card to embark/disembark.
  • Not consume food or drink.
  • Speak in a respectful manner when addressing staff, other students, or members of the public on buses or trains.
  • Remain in their seat on buses for the duration of the trip.
  • Not distract the driver and sit where they are instructed to by the driver, if necessary.
  • Not throw objects around the bus/train or outside from the bus.
  • Always wear a seatbelt on a bus where provided.
  • Not be using a mobile phone (unless making contact with family) or other device to take photos.
  • Not interfere with the controls or safety equipment of the bus/train.

All behaviour on public transport should reflect all the general expectations placed upon students when on the College grounds.
