In PE over the last two weeks we have been catching up on athletics events that we missed out on this term. Whether students were reviewing and practising techniques (5/6s) or  learning new ones (3/4s), they all gave both  Shot Put and Discus a really good go. I was really impressed with the 3/4 efforts as beginners in  these events and am excited to see how they go at Athletics in term 2.

5/6s also engaged in a team building game called Cross the River where they had to use their team work skills, such as effective communication and conflict management. This was so much fun to watch as they came across problems and worked together to solve them.

Foundation explored running safely by keeping our eyes on a target while running, and stopping and starting safely through a new game called Mother Witch.

1W explored team-building games such as Hoola Hoop Group and Cross the River where we discussed using effective communication to achieve a goal as a team.

1/2S explored two different types of throwing (over arm and under arm), before playing in teams to collect points by throwing into different hoola hoops, and even a game of dodgeball where we later reflected on which type of throwing was more effective during the game.

It was a really nice end to the term, and I look forward to getting back to it in term 2.
