From the Principal

We got lucky!! The weather bestowed its kindness upon us, as rain turned to sunshine, setting the perfect conditions for a memorable 2024 Family BBQ. As the aroma of sizzling sausages filled the air, our school community came together for an event filled with fun family activities. The face painting, balloon making, large wooden games, family craft, disco bubble blowing, outdoor games, guess the lolly jar and school choir performance all provided opportunities to bring people together and create a shared sense of belonging. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and efforts of our staff helpers, guided by Mrs Gathercole’s leadership, whose hard work ensured the smooth running of the event. Thank you to the support of all our wonderful students, parents and family members for your positive contributions and enthusiastic participation which added to the vibrancy and excitement.  I hope you enjoy all the joyful photos on page 4 of this newsletter. If you come to the office, you will see many more happy photos and video footage on the office digital screen.

On Friday 8th March 41 students represented Athol Road PS at the Springvale District Athletics event. All the students performed their best and showed great determination and skill. It's not easy to compete in athletics, but they showed real dedication and represented our school admirably.

The students below finished first or second in their event(s) and will progress to the Division event held in Term 3.  Their hard work and determination paid off, and they should all feel incredibly proud of what they achieved.
