K-2 News (C Block)

What a busy time in C Block!

Since the last newsletter, we have had school photo day, Harmony Day, Autism Awareness Day, K-2 Fun Run, Easter activities as well as learning many things in our classrooms, in the library, and during SISA sport time. The SRC has begun, as well as the Gamarada group, scripture and the Pasifika Dance group.

We are looking forward to the holidays so we can refresh, recharge and come back to school ready to begin more learning in Term 2!

E Block (5/6BG)

Our 5/6BG students have had an amazing term, participating in a diverse range of activities that have ignited their curiosity, creativity, and passion for learning. From leadership camps, Welcome BBQ’s, Buddy Lessons, Hat Parades, immersive science experiments to thought-provoking class debates, our students have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm.

What a great beginning to the year!

Keeper

"Meet our amazing  school therapy dog Keeper!

Every week, this furry friend walks into our rooms, spreading happiness and comfort.

Keeper is playing a crucial part in supporting our anxious and reluctant students.

His unconditional love and non-judgmental companionship create a safe connection where students can relax, open up, and feel understood. Petting a dog has been scientifically proven to reduce stress and anxiety levels, triggering the release of feel-good hormones like oxytocin and serotonin.

Keeper’s, the routine we see him visit every classroom throughout the year. The visits encourage students to step out of their comfort zones as they look forward to the weekly interaction, fostering a sense of anticipation and excitement, motivating them to engage more actively in school activities.

Keeper’s visits have been possible through the generosity of the P&C who pay for the ‘Paws as Therapy’ program, which we as a staff and student body are extremely grateful.
