From the Principal

Primary Choir | Easter Service

The term has ended with some lovely events this week.

On Tuesday afternoon, the ASC CEO The Revd Peter Laurence OAM visited the School to present Certificates of Appreciation to six long serving staff members. He spoke warmly of the significant contribution that the following staff have made to the School:

Lynndy Cohen, Zoe Lourenco and Stephen Fox - 20 years' service.

Sally Banks and Brendan Kilmartin - 25 years' service.

Karen Hildebrandt - 30 years' service

School Council Chair Craig Moulton also addressed the staff, acknowledging their care of the students and contribution to the School during this busy term.

Easter Service

Yesterday morning the school community gathered for our annual Easter Service, led by Chaplain Justine. It was wonderful to have several clergy and parents join us for the Service. Chapel Prefect Arthlay Mathibri led the Procession to begin the holiest celebration for Christians. Through the season of Holy Week and Easter; most particularly Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Day, we recognise that through Jesus' life, death and rising; our past, present and future are changed. Easter is the promise of new life for all.

The School Ball

The Year 12 students and partners enjoyed a special Wednesday evening in the Golden Ballroom at the Pan Pacific Hotel for their School Ball. The students' attire and demeanour befitted a formal occasion with sharp suits and glamorous gowns in a variety of designs and colours filling the Ballroom. Following a sumptuous buffet meal and ballroom dancing, the students danced the night away to the resident DJ. A fabulous time was had by all. The Belle of the Ball was Mia Wall and the Beau, James Dumbreck. Congratulations and thank you to the Ball Committee who worked with staff members, Kylie Virgo and Rochelle Buttigig, to organise this memorable occasion.

Staff matters

This morning we wished Amanda Lin (Secondary Art) a rejuvenating term of Long Service Leave. We thanked and farewelled Karen Ayres who has concluded her contract in Primary Learning Support; Lynndy Cohen (Food Technician) who is retiring; Lisa Currivan (English) and  Erin Atkinson (Education Assistant) who are exploring new opportunities.

I look forward to welcoming your children back to Term 2 on Tuesday 16 April in Winter Uniform.

With best wishes for Easter and the school holidays.
