Principal's Report 

Dear Parents and Carers, 

Thank you for your partnership with us during term 1. We wish you and your family a safe and happy holiday period, which involves many different cultural celebrations, including Easter, Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr, and Diwali. Know that we will be thinking of all the different cultural groups celebrating at this time. Please note on your family’s calendar, school resumes MONDAY 15th APRIL.

Staff Farewells: As often occurs in many schools, staff leave throughout the year for a range of reasons. Sometimes they have an opportunity to work at a school closer to home, or in a different role or other opportunities present themselves they would like to explore. Today we farewell Mrs Jellis, who has been her for 8 year, Ms Cat J, an ES working in the 5/6 team and Mrs Toews, a teacher who arrived from America in the middle of last year. We thank each of these people for their work at Melton West PS and wish them all the next as they journey into the next phase of their career.

Sausage Sizzle Thank-You: A huge thank you to Mrs Maria Robinson who lead a large contingent of parents and carers to cook and distribute sausages for our much loved Sausage Sizzle, which we hold each term. The children thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to purchase these and it is a fantastic fundraiser for the school. 

Easter Bonnet: Yesterday we held an Easter Bonnet day, where students were invited to wear a hat they had created at home. Some of the creations were amazing and I am in awe of the families who created them with their children. Some classes created something to wear within their class and it was so cute to see the children proudly wearing those. 

School Photos: We have booked the annual school photo day on Monday 29th April. Individually named envelopes were sent home this week, so please look out for these. Unfortunately, we cannot accept payment at the office, as the forms are processed directly by the company. This is the process all photographers use. We have changed the company we are using as we had some feedback from parents that they were not happy with the picture they took. If you order photos, and after you receive them, please let us know if you happy or not with this company. If you have any questions or concerns, please let the office know and they will be able to help you.
