We were thrilled to offer a fantastic opportunity that inspired our youngest learners and celebrated the achievements of our senior primary drama students!
Throughout the term, our Year 5 and Year 6 drama students worked diligently to create a rich collection of dramatic performances as part of their major assessment. These talented senior students developed valuable skills in collaboration, explored diverse theatrical styles and cultures, and built their confidence and stage presence through practice and reflection. Many of you may have noticed them rehearsing outdoors!
A Special Performance for Our Kindergarten Students
This week, our Year 5 and 6 drama students brought their passion and creativity to life by performing a curated program of short, lively dramatic pieces specially designed for our Kindergarten audience. Each piece was approximately five minutes long, with the entire presentation lasting about 20 minutes. This immersive experience introduced our youngest learners to the magic of live theatre, encouraging imagination, empathy, and a love of storytelling from an early age.
Why This Mattered
Drama proved to be a powerful tool for nurturing communication skills and emotional understanding. By connecting senior performers with our Kindergarten students, we fostered inspiration and enjoyment across year groups. Our senior students gained invaluable experience performing for a real audience, deepening their understanding of the performer-audience relationship and boosting their confidence.
Benefits for Our School Community
Thank you to Ms Philips and Ms Primrose for leading this initiative. We are extremely proud of all our young performers and grateful for the support in celebrating the power of the arts at our school!
