Praying for the New School Year

School Theme for 2026: “God With Us!” (Gospel of Matthew)
Praise God for the wonderful truth that Jesus is Emmanuel - God with us. Pray that as our school studies Matthew this year, students and staff will clearly see Jesus as the promised King who is always present, teaching, healing, forgiving sins, dying on the cross, rising again, and reigning forever to the very end of the age.
Pray that our students would turn to God for:
- Comfort when facing hardships at school or home
- Courage when things feel uncertain
- Hope in dark or difficult moments
- Strength to live faithfully and love others well in this broken world
Growing Faith in Our Students
Please pray that God would continue to bring many students to a personal faith in Jesus through the work of His Spirit and the faithful teaching of His Word throughout the year.
Start of School Year
- Pray for all returning students as they settle into their new classes and routines. Pray especially for the new families joining our school community, that they would feel warmly welcomed and supported.
- Please pray in particular for our new Kindergarten families starting on Thursday, that this first step into school life would be positive and reassuring for both children and parents.
- Ask that, as new families become part of our community, they would connect with Christian families who can walk alongside them and share the love of Jesus in meaningful and genuine ways.
Bibles Gifted to New Students
- We give thanks that our school is able to gift Bibles to new students and families. Our Kindergarten students receive The Jesus Storybook Bible, and all new families are given a copy of the NIV Bible.
- Pray that these Bibles would be well used throughout the year, and that God would speak to students and their families through His Word as they read together or individually.
Senior Christian Leadership Camp – EQUIP (12–13 February)
Pray that:
- Sam Madhavi (speaker) would challenge and inspire students to share the gospel boldly and equip them to lead Bible studies that encourage and stretch their peers
- Our student leaders would grow in their love for God and in their ministry gifts — especially teaching, leading, and serving
- The time together would be used wisely to prepare Bible studies and short talks
- God would sustain Mr Petts and Mrs Thompson as they lead the camp
- Shared meals and time together would strengthen unity within the student ministry team
Secondary Chaplaincy
Give thanks for Mr Curran joining the Secondary school as Assistant Chaplain, working alongside Mr Petts.
Please pray for:
- A smooth settling into the role
- Discernment in recognising the needs of students
- Wisdom in conversations and answering questions
- Strong, trusting relationships with students
