It has been a positive and settled start to the school year, and it has been pleasing to see how quickly students have returned to routines. This year, we were able to move into classes on Day 1, which helped create a calm and organised beginning for both students and staff. That smooth start sets a strong foundation for the year ahead. As the year unfolds, students will experience both moments of challenge and moments of success. Through these experiences, they will continue to build resilience and confidence as learners, supported by the care and consistency of our school community. I am looking forward to seeing their growth and achievements as the year progresses.
A special congratulations to our Kindergarten students on a fantastic first week of school. They have settled in so well, and it was a real highlight to welcome them into my office to say hello. I have been very impressed by the confidence, curiosity and enthusiasm they have shown as they begin their learning journey at Chatswood.

I would like to welcome and introduce you to our school leaders for 2026. They are an outstanding group of students who have already shown a strong sense of responsibility and care for our school. I am confident they will fulfil their roles with maturity and make a meaningful contribution to the life of the school this year.

We invite all parents and carers to attend our Meet the Teacher Evening on Thursday, 12 February. This is an invaluable opportunity to connect with your child’s teacher, gain insight into classroom expectations, and learn how we can work together to support your child’s learning in 2026. Strong partnerships between home and school are key to student success, and we encourage all families to attend.
5:00 - 5:30pm: Kindergarten, Year 1, Year 2 classes
5:30 - 6:00pm: OAK1,2 & 3, Year 3 and Year 4 classes
6:00 - 6:30pm: Year 5 and Year 6 classes
All materials will be sent home via email on Friday afternoon if you are unable to attend the meeting. Please note, this event is for parents and carers only.
School Bytes provides a parent portal to help your school communicate with you.
Our school uses the parent portal for various things, including online permission notes, attendance, and payments, which can be accessed via a secure link. The School Bytes parent portal enables you to view all your children in one portal and process payments for multiple siblings in one transaction.

The school office will distribute permission notes via School Bytes for general excursions, incursions, school carnivals, technology use, PSSA activities, and other publishing matters. Timely processing of these notes is essential. We kindly request that parents complete them promptly, as this facilitates the smooth execution of events and activities, ensuring that your child does not miss out on valuable experiences.

Please ensure the school is aware of any medical needs your child may have. It is the responsibility of parents/carers to provide updated Health Care Plans, Action Plans and medications to the school. Students are not permitted to carry medication in their own bags. If your child requires medication at any point during the school day, it must be kept in the office and administered under supervision.
Thank you to parents/carers who have already replied and visited the office with an updated Health Care Plan, Action Plan and medication this year. Action Plans are medical documents completed and signed by the treating doctor, not a parent. Please be advised that Action Plans do not expire, and therefore the plan is still valid beyond the recommended review date, which is a guide for patients to see their doctor.
However, the school strongly recommends that parents/carers visit the doctor to ensure their child/ren's health condition is up to date.
When you get an Action Plan from your doctor, be sure to get a coloured one. Please look at the latest version of Action Plans as your reference.
