CONNECTION AT GREENHILLS

What a great start all of our students have made to the 2026 School Year. We have been amazed with how settled the classrooms are and we are proud of the way that the students have settled into their learning.

Our start up program, ‘Get Set and Connect’, focuses on setting up these routines and expectations and also building connections across their grade and their cohort. We know that students who feel safe and connected are more likely to be students who are ready to learn.

As a school we look for opportunities to enhance these connections amongst the students further. Throughout the year we will have a variety of events and activities, which promote opportunities for students to connect within their grades, cohort and also across the school (multi-age activities).

Next week, we are having our first example of this with a Winter Olympics themed day. All students from Years 1 to Year 6 will participate in some fun challenges (linked to the Winter Olympics) to earn points for their House Teams. The House Teams bring a sense of pride and ownership for our students, which further helps them to feel connected to the school. Students and staff are encouraged to wear their house tops and get involved in the fun.

We are looking forward to many opportunities to strengthen connections, whilst also spreading fun and joy throughout 2026.
