Foundation to Year 2 Library Bags

It has been lovely to see so many Foundation to Year 2 students bringing library bags already in their first few weeks. Our library bags are an important tool to help keep books safe and easily found. We ask that families provide a library bag. However we are able to lend one to students until a bag can be organised if needed. F-2 students require a bag to borrow during their library lessons.

Research tells us the value of reading aloud with our children. The class teachers will have let you know when your student has library lessons.  Ask your child about what they have borrowed this week. For our younger students, having the books read to them really supports their reading journey. They love telling us about who is reading to them at home. It has a big impact.

Please feel free to pop in to the Library before or after school if you have any questions. Students can also do their borrowing at that time if they forgot their books on the class borrowing day.

Scholastic Book Club

The first issue of Scholastic Book Club should have come home to families this week. There are two issues each term. The catalogue can also be accessed here: Book Club Issue 1.

Our College participates in Book Club because it is an affordable and convenient way to access quality, age appropriate and engaging books for our students. It also has the added bonus of giving back to our College through rewards points.  By purchasing from Book Club the College earns points that the Library then uses to buy books for all our students to enjoy. We are grateful to families for supporting this initiative. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about Book Club.

Lost and Overdue Books

With a new school year we have the opportunity for a fresh start to our borrowing from the Library.

Some students still had books out on loan at the end of 2025 and we suggested they take the holidays to try to find the missing items. If your child still has outstanding books it would be great to finalise these so that they are able to continue borrowing from the Library. We need our resources to be shared by the whole school community. We will communicate with families about items still to be returned. If you have any questions give us a call.
