From the Principal

Dear Parents, Carers and Members of the St Augustine’s College Community,
Welcome to the 2026 school year. It is wonderful to see our community come together again after the summer break, and I extend a warm welcome to all students, staff and families - particularly those who are new to our College this year. We are very pleased to have you with us.
I would like to sincerely thank Fr Novie from Echuca for celebrating our Opening Mass with us on Wednesday. It was a special way to begin the year and provided a strong sense of connection, faith and shared purpose. His energy was infectious and it was so lovely to hear him connect our school motto “Unite Inspire Lead Excel with Strength and Kindliness” into his homily. Thank you also to Rach Chapman and our Catholic Identity team for their time and effort in preparing such a meaningful celebration, which was full of joy and a strong sense of community.
The beginning of the school year always brings a sense of fresh possibility. It is a time to reset, to set goals, and to approach the year ahead with optimism and confidence. Throughout 2026, we will continue to build on the strong foundations of St Augustine’s College while striving to do our very best in all areas of school life. Whether in learning, sport, the arts or service, every member of our community plays an important role in creating a positive and supportive environment where students can thrive.
I encourage our students to challenge themselves this year, to become involved in the many opportunities available to them, and to support one another along the way. Guided by our College motto - Unite, Inspire, Lead and Excel with Strength & Kindliness - let us work together to make the most of the year ahead.
Thank you to the families who took the time to come and visit during our Open Afternoon on Wednesday and meet with our teachers. Our TAs will be making contact in the coming weeks to touch base and further build those partnerships between school and home. I wish all our students a happy and successful year and look forward to working in partnership with our families throughout 2026.
We also acknowledge and thank Gayle Angelino, who will be finishing up this week as she begins her retirement after more than 20 years of dedicated service to St Augustine’s College. Across that time, Gayle has supported our community in countless ways, not only as a classroom teacher but also through a range of important roles, including her work in Daily Organisation. Her calm presence, reliability and deep care for students and staff have made a lasting impact on our College. We thank Gayle for her commitment and contribution over many years and wish her every happiness and fulfilment in the next chapter of her life.
Warm regards,
Tim Campbell
Principal
