Principal Connections

Hi everyone! It’s so wonderful getting to know our community. Can you believe we’re halfway through Term 1? I really enjoy seeing all of you around the school, those friendly waves, hellos, and chats out in the yard always brighten my day. This week, we held our Wellbeing and Connection Conversations which were some dedicated time for teachers to chat with families so we can learn more about your child and share how they are settling in. It was so lovely seeing so many of you in the yard and classrooms.
Student Leadership Speeches
Today, Mr Wragg, Mrs Bamford, Mrs Kent, Mrs Carey and I had the incredibly fortunate role of listening to our student leadership speeches.
We were so impressed by the high standard, confidence and thoughtful preparation each student demonstrated. It was evident how much effort had gone into crafting their speeches and preparing to present in front of their peers. We are very proud of all students who put themselves forward, it takes courage, commitment and leadership to step up in this way.
Our senior students are incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to serve as our inaugural captains. As our foundation student leaders, they will play a significant role in shaping the culture, traditions and spirit of our school. What a special legacy to begin.
A sincere thank you to Mrs Carey for the wonderful work she has done in the classroom to support students through this process. Her guidance has clearly helped our students prepare with clarity and confidence.
We look forward to finalising the student leadership roles and announcing them at next week’s assembly.

School Policies – A Helpful Resource
As a new school, we are continuing to build strong foundations, and our policies are an important part of that work.
I encourage families to visit the Policies and School Documentation section of our website:🔗 https://balambalamps.vic.edu.au/policies-and-school-documentation/
This page provides clear information about how we operate across a range of areas at Balambalam. It is a helpful first reference point if you are seeking clarity about processes, expectations or guidelines.
Communication Pathways
In the coming week, you will receive our Communication Pathways document.
This resource has been developed to ensure families know exactly who to contact when questions arise. As a general guide, your child’s classroom teacher is always the first point of contact for matters relating to learning, wellbeing or classroom routines.
We are committed to responsive, respectful communication that reflects our school values and motto. When we work together your children benefit most.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support as we continue building something very special at Balambalam.
Warm regards,
