Report
Welcome to Week 5! We are in the final week of our Who We Are unit, where students have been learning about themselves, their relationships, and how their choices help create a positive and caring school community. Through conversations, activities, and reflection, students have been building confidence and a stronger sense of belonging.
From next week, students will begin a new unit called How We Organise Ourselves, which will run for the remainder of the term. In this unit, students will explore how schools, communities, and groups are organised, the roles people play, and why rules and routines help everything run smoothly.
In the final week of the term, families will be invited into classrooms for students to share their learning from this unit. This will be a lovely opportunity to see what your child has been learning and to celebrate their growth together.
The first continuous report for the year was sent out to families earlier today! This is a wonderful opportunity to see the amazing effort and learning your child has been putting in across the classroom. Please log in to Compass to explore the Learning Tasks and celebrate their hard work. If you have any trouble finding the Learning Task, please let me know, and I will be happy to help.
A reminder that our Year 2 students will begin their swimming program next week at Collingwood Leisure Centre. This two-week intensive program is a valuable opportunity for students to build confidence in the water while improving their swimming skills and understanding of water safety. If you are able to help out with swimming and still need to complete your confidentiality training, please let me know so we can arrange for this to be completed during the week.
A reminder that our Welcome Picnic will be held on Thursday, 26 February from 3:45 pm to 6:00 pm on The Block. A special ceremony for our Foundation students and their Year 6 buddies will take place at 3:00 pm. Parents and carers of Prep and Year 6 students are warmly invited to attend the ceremony before joining us for the picnic.
On Thursday, Ben will be taking 34 FNPS students to compete in the District Swimming Carnival at Fitzroy Swimming Pool. We wish all of our students the very best of luck as they compete on the day and represent FNPS.
