Settling into the New School Year
The Year 5 students have had a fantastic start to the new school year! Over the past few weeks, we have been engaging in our start-up program, LEAP, which focuses on building strong connections, wellbeing, and understanding classroom expectations.
Through LEAP, students have participated in activities designed to strengthen relationships with peers and teachers, develop self-awareness, and reflect on the skills that help them thrive both socially and academically. We have been impressed with how quickly students have embraced the routines and expectations, showing care, respect, and enthusiasm for their learning environment.
This program has also given students opportunities to practice communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, laying a strong foundation for the year ahead. Many students have shared that they are feeling more confident, connected, and ready to take on new challenges.
We look forward to seeing their continued growth as they build on these foundations and engage with the exciting learning opportunities planned for Year 5.

Re: Backflips Against Bullying
Dear Highvale families,
We are pleased to be hosting Backflips Against Bullying whole-school incursion on Friday 6th March!
Backflips Against Bullying is an engaging school incursion designed especially for primary students. Through fun, high-energy performances and age-appropriate discussion, the program helps students learn about kindness, respectful behaviour and making positive choices. It encourages children to think about how their actions affect others and how they can help create a safe, friendly and inclusive school environment. It is an expectation that all students attend this incursion, as it aligns directly to the Personall & Social Capabilities of the Victorian Curriculum.
Permission & payment is due by: Friday 27th February. If you have any questions, please contact your child's classroom teacher or the office.
