Grade 6

The Grade 6 students have had a fantastic start to 2026, jumping straight into learning with enthusiasm and positivity. We began the year with a Positive Start Week, where students worked closely with their peers to build strong relationships and proudly demonstrate all of our PROUD values. It has been wonderful to see such respect, cooperation, and confidence so early in the year.
Literacy In Literacy, students have begun reading Rivet Boy, sparking thoughtful discussions and curiosity about the historical context of the text. Alongside this, they are researching the Forth Bridge, building background knowledge to support their understanding. Students have also been revisiting and applying all of the comprehension strategies they learned last year, showing great maturity in how they explain their thinking and respond to texts.
Mathematics In Mathematics, we have been exploring all things data. Students are collecting, representing, and interpreting data while discussing what the information shows and how it can be used in real-life situations. There has been strong engagement and collaboration as students share ideas and challenge their thinking.
It has been a very positive and productive start to the year, and we are excited to see the continued growth of our Grade 6 students as 2026 unfolds
