STEM
It has been a great start to STEM in 2026! We are excited to welcome Mr McGuffie, who is participating in STEM teaching this year.
In Term 1, students from Grades 1 to 6 are focusing on Physical Sciences, while Prep students are learning about habitats as part of their biology studies in STEM.
Grade 1 and 2 students have begun learning about sound and light, exploring different sound sources and how sound is produced. Grade 3 and 4 students are focusing on forces. They have identified contact and non-contact forces and explored magnetism, applied forces, static electricity, and friction through hands-on force stations.
Grade 5 and 6 students started the term by exploring light. Following this learning, they will move on to studying electricity and electric circuits. Students will carry out guided experiments in collaborative groups to construct simple closed electrical circuits.
