Pupil free day - Term 1

Gallery Image

Each year schools are granted 4 pupil free days and a Professional Practice Day by the Department. These dates may change each year depending on the needs of the school and must be approved by School Council.  Our first  pupil free day for this year is on Tuesday 10th of March.  This give families the option to take an extra long weekend if they wish to and aligns with the pupil Free day at Rochester Secondary.

Welcome Morning

Next Friday we are inviting our parents in to visit the classrooms before school between 8:30 -9am. We will then hold a Dance Showcase as a wrap up of our sessions with the Kinect 2 Dance program. Parents can also purchase a coffee from the coffee van from 8:30 onwards.

Safe Drop off & Pick up

Our school community is committed to keeping every child safe, confident and ready to learn. One of the busiest and most important times of the day is before and after school, when roads near the school are at their busiest.

To help keep everyone safe, we ask all families to:

  • Use the pedestrian crossing whenever possible
  • Walk children across the road—do not let them cross alone between parked cars
  • Model safe road behaviour by stopping, looking, listening and holding hands
  • keep the loading bay and disabled park areas free to  increase visibility.

Why this matters?

  • Children can be hard to see between cars
  • Drivers may not see children stepping onto the road unexpectedly
  • Young children are still learning road safety skills and need adult guidance

By using the crossing and walking children across the road, you are helping us live our school values:

  • Be Kind – look out for every child and family
  • Be Safe – make safe choices around traffic
  • Be Brave – model safe habits and speak up if something feels unsafe

Thank you for helping us keep our school community safe every day.

Sno Cone Day
