AYYAM-I-HA

This week in Hakea, we celebrated Ayyam-i-ha!

Ayyam-i-ha is a celebration through the Baháʼí Faith. It is a period dedicated to hospitality, service, and generosity. It is a time for fostering community, sharing joy with family and friends, and caring for those in need. To celebrate, the children made friendship bracelets to wrap in their own wrapping to gift to a friend at kinder. They worked hard in designing their wrapping paper, and their special bracelets.

At group time, we introduced Ayyam-i-ha to the children by talking about the meaning and linking it into our kindness superheroes analogy. We then learnt and sang the song “We are drops”, a beautiful song about living in harmony across the world.

The link to the song is below:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gE343vBRtKY

Before we had our lunch, we sat in a circle and began to give out our special gifts we had made. The children took turns choosing a name out of a basket. This helped decide who they gave their gift to. It was beautiful to see their faces light up when they received a gift, and at the end everyone had a special bracelet made with love.

What a fun day celebrate love, kindness and connection!
