Dear Parents and Carers,

An invitation: information session with Prof. Chris Candido

Designing Learning Spaces for Diversity, Inclusion and Participation

Wed 3rd June 9.15-10.15am

Our school has been invited to participate in an exciting research study, conducted by the University of Melbourne in partnership with the Australian Research Centre and the Department of Education. The project focuses on designing learning spaces that better support diversity, inclusion and participation for all students. This is a high priority for us, so we jumped at the opportunity.

The study aims to understand how learning environments can be strengthened for every child, in particular, how physical spaces can better support learners to feel calm, connected, engaged and able to thrive. Along with installing noise and air monitors in various locations around the school, researchers will be exploring how classroom environments impact student comfort, wellbeing and participation in learning.

Prof. Chris Candido and other members of the research team are offering an information  session for parents/ carers on 3rd June here at BSPS. The session will provide insights into the project and inclusive learning design to best support students with neurodiversities or disability, as well as those who don’t.

Families do not need to be participating in the study to attend the session, and all interested parents and carers are very welcome.

Please RSVP by emailing brunswick.south.ps@education.vic.gov.au by COB Monday 1st June.
