5/6 Team News

A Term of Growth and Achievement

As we reach the end of another fantastic semester, we want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible journey our Grade 5 and 6 students have been on. This term has been truly packed with vibrant learning experiences, memorable adventures, and significant personal growth.

A Semester to Remember

From stepping outside the classroom to diving deep into our curriculum, our students have embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm. Some of our highlights from this term included:

  • Learning & Discovery: We honed our writing skills by crafting detailed biographies of famous figures, explored the powerful forces of nature during our natural disasters unit, and tackled Tier 2 maths to solidify our understanding of fractions.
  • Fun & Connection: We built memories through the exhilarating Colour Run, our eye-opening excursion to the museum, and the thrill of Interschool sports.
  • Community Support: We were grateful for the important cyber safety session with the Preston Police and, of course, the delicious pizza and chips lunch provided by the PFA—a well-deserved treat!

Celebrating Our Assessment Achievements

We want to extend a massive kudos to all our students for their hard work over the last few weeks. Completing assessments is never easy, but your dedication to demonstrating how much you have learned has been outstanding. You should be incredibly proud of the progress you’ve made; your teachers certainly are!

Looking Ahead

We haven't finished yet, still two weeks of learning and celebrating culture (Cultural Week), but we want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all our families for your continuous support throughout this busy term. Your partnership plays a vital role in our students' success, and we couldn’t do it without you.

We hope everyone enjoys a well-earned break. We are looking forward to welcoming the students back and diving into even more exciting learning during Term 3
