Congratulation to our most recent award recipients.

National Simultaneous Storytime 2026

Students gathered in the Library today to be a part of the National Similtaneous Storytime. Followed by some Luna Roo Activities.

ALIA's National Simultaneous Storytime is an event that celebrates literacy, imagination and connection through the joy of shared reading – a mission that mirrors our own.

Every year, a picture book created by an Australian author and illustrator is chosen for a free nationwide reading event unlike any other. Millions gather in schools, libraries, homes, preschools and bookshops to read the same story, at the same time, out loud, together.

In 2026, that picture book is Luna Roo. A full-throttle, tail-thumping, goal-scoring, underdog story that brings the excitement off the pitch – and the page – and into an unmissable storytime event on 27 May 2026 at 12.00pm AEST.

  Only a few days left in the month of May!

  Our students have been invited to participate in the "Read More in May" challenge! Participation calendars were sent home a few weeks ago and we were very pleased to see some students were already marking off some tiles. 

  To help us support their progress, please keep these sheets in their Library bags so we can check in to see how they are tracking. We will be cheering them on and celebrating their reading milestones throughout the month!

Premier’s Reading Challenge

The NSW Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) is a statewide annual initiative aimed at fostering a love of reading in all students. Students complete the PRC by reading a range of books. Some books must be from the PRC booklist, while others can be personal choice books. In the PRC, K-2 students read 30 books and Years 3-6 read 20 books. Reading completed in class may also count towards the challenge. Parents and carers who would like to keep a record of reading completed at home can use a physical reading log. Remember, library borrowing day is every Wednesday. Please bring your library bag and return your books each week, or re-borrow them if you need more time to read.
