Welcome to our latest edition of St. Margaret’s e-Smart News. We hope you find the information in these articles to be of great use during the year!
I recommend families refer to our school website under the Technologies tab (within Learning and Teaching) for resources and links which will assist your families to keep children safe online, both at home and also at school. We will continue to provide useful resources to help keep our families e-Safe and make updates as they roll out.

School Instagram Account Update - COMING SOON!
With technological updates, our Instagram handle will be updated and kept secure. We will send out the details of the new Instagram page once it has been prepared with the new handle name. This will occur during the next few weeks. It is currently being updated with support from MACS. We apologise for the delays with the change over.
Code Camp
Although construction works have been completed there will not be a Code Camp program run during the Term 2 School Holidays. The school will be reviewing our partnership with Code Camp next term and will keep you posted for future Code Camp updates.
e-Safety SOCIAL MEDIA AGE RESTRICTIONS
The campaign ‘For the good of their wellbeing’ raises awareness of the Social Media Minimum Age law. The new law, which has been in effect since 10 December 2025 means you must be 16 years or older to have a social media account. Social media platforms will not allow Australians under the age of 16 to create or maintain an account.
This change is designed to protect young people from the risk of harm from social media and to support their wellbeing.
You can find helpful resources for young people, families and educators in the eSafety Social media age restrictions hub.
