PACharlie TFor being our class Super Syllable Counter! Your focus and determination to break words into syllables is wonderful to see. This has had you and your peers engaging during class conversations with excellent purpose. Well done Charlie!
PBSammy FFor using excellent reading strategies when solving new words during our reading group. Thanks for showing off your skills, Sammy! Keep up the great work. 
PCMatteo MFor your amazing determination when stretching out your sounds. Matteo, I loved your confidence during reading groups when you are stretching out sounds in words and putting them back together. You are amazing!
PDSophie BFor her amazing resilience in meeting and playing with her new Year 5 buddy. I am so proud that you have bounced back and are enjoying meeting a new friend. Keep it up superstar!

4CEnea CFor the consistent contributions he has been making to whole-class discussions. During our mini-lessons, Enea has been frequently raising his hand to share his ideas. He listens to others and is more than happy to volunteer to read our learning intention or success criteria. Keep up the great work Enea!
4DJamie LFor his imaginative Jumanji-inspired writing! Jamie, you demonstrated such wonderful creativity and story telling skills. Well done on taking your readers on such an exciting adventure.

5BHunter RFor your fantastic effort on your ‘Japan Research Project’ this fortnight, Hunter, you have worked really hard during the research, dot pointing, sentence revising, and presentation aspects of this project, resulting in an excellent presentation! Well done!
5CReva NFor always trying to do the right thing. I feel very lucky to have been your teacher for the last two years because of how kind, caring and respectful you are. So often, I find myself thinking that you teach me as much as I teach you! Thank you for always looking out for others, being a patient friend and an amazing listener. Congratulations, superstar!

6ACameron JFor your excellent efforts in your Shaun Tan Venn Diagram. You compared and contrasted ideas from the text and carefully put your ideas to paper. Keep up the great work, Cameron!
6BOakley CFor diligently completing your homework tasks and reaching your homework goals for this term! Oakley, you have started to gain great study habits at home. Keep up the great work, as you start preparing yourself for high school!
6CLiam PFor showing resilience and an increased confidence in the belief within himself. Liam has been working hard towards his learning goals in maths and in particular, the understanding of whole numbers and the place value system. Keep up the great work!

Well done to the Wembley Primary School Ski Team, who competed in the Victorian Interschools SnowSports Championships at Mt Buller in August. 

 

This year we had 7 competitors representing Wembley. Our team competed in Giant Slalom, Ski Cross and Moguls competitions. Competitors had a fabulous time, despite the challenging conditions, and displayed Wembley values throughout. Well done to Felix King (Grade 2), Charlotte Meissner (Grade 3), Jack Dean (Grade 4), Angus Broadhurst (Grade 4), Harry Meissner (Grade 5), Annabelle Dwyer (Grade 5), and Oscar Broadhurst (Grade 6). Well done team!!

If there are any acknowledgements that parents/students wish to share with us and can be celebrated with our wider community, we ask that you email us at wembley.ps@education.vic.gov.au with the student/s name/s, a summary of the acknowledgement and any photos that you would be comfortable sharing and we will aim to include it in our fortnightly WPS newsletter.
