Sport

It is such a positive environment in the sporting activity space both in and out of school. With the weather warming up, it is encouraging more outdoor play. Basketball is popular as usual, with all the courts being used each and every day, punishing shoe tread and basketball rubber to a very thin layer. Our Year 7 students are using the oval for soccer, honing their skills each break, while the cricket nets are seeing action with some big hits, as the Big Bash season approaches. Even though the AFL Grand Final was won by the Lions, our young Dragons are still kicking the Sherrin around the grounds, as if Round 1 was fast approaching. Maybe an early pre-season is in the works.

The last of the Interschool Sports are fast approaching, with Junior Hockey, Year 7 Table Tennis, Intermediate Basketball and Mountain Biking coming up, all at the Gippsland level. On Monday 21st October, 3 Year 11 students will compete against the best at the State Athletics Championships. They are entrenched in their training programs, and we collectively wish them all the best.

Yesterday our Intermediate girls basketball team represented our College at the Gippsland Regional Sports Stadium in Traralgon.  Unfortunately despite every effort there was just the 1 win for the day but the girls were in very high spirits.  The staff who attended the event were very proud of how they represented our College and displayed our school vales of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.

We look forward to seeing what they can achieve next time.  Well done to everyone involved!
