Faith, Justice and Formation
Friday Masses
Welcome back to Term 4! All parents/carers and friends, as well as our boys and young men, are invited to join us at Friday morning Masses at 8:10 AM in the College Chapel to share in our faith as one community. We move through the remainder of the Ordinary Year into the season of Advent this term and celebrate some special occasions along the way. There is no better way to start the day and round out the week than with some quiet time in communion with others, as we worship God.
Below is the roster for which cohorts will lead Mass for the term. Even if your son is not taking on a role it would be great if you and your son/s could come to your respective Mass, as well as any others!
18 October (Feast of St Luke) | Year 5 |
25 October (Week 29 of Ordinary Time) | Year 8 |
1 November (All Saints Day) | Year 11 |
8 November (Week 31 of Ordinary Time) | Year 7 |
15 November (Week 32 of Ordinary Time) | Year 10 |
22 November (Feast of St Cecilia) | Year 9 |
29 November (Friday before Advent) | Social Justice Action Group |
Simply practicing our faith can allow for a sense of freedom, in turn guiding us to make a better world for all. We look forward to seeing you there.
College Memorial Book
The College has a Memorial Book to remember all deceased loved ones in our community. You are invited to complete the form below with details of loved ones who have passed away (and who have not already been entered) so they can be entered into the book by College staff only.
This book always sits on the sanctuary of the College Chapel and during the Month of Remembrance, November, it is placed on the altar for all Masses.
In the lead up to November I encourage you to complete the SPC Memorial Book Entries should you have someone you wish to be remembered in the community.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord;
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.
Parent SOL Term 4 Meeting
The Parent SOL group is the College’s Parent Social Justice Group, which looks at ways it can help support our Justice Partners and lead and educate the community in this space. Being part of this team is not an onerous task but helps coordinate parents in working for justice.
Our Term 4 meeting will take place next Tuesday 22 October at 6:30 PM in the Bangawarra Room on the Coghlan Building Balcony. It will not go past 7:30 PM. Everyone is welcome. If you are not sure where to go, just meet at the statue of Edmund in front of the Chapel.
This meeting will reflect on what we have done and do some planning for the future. It will also acknowledge many of the founding members of this group who are moving on, and ensure we have people in place to carry on and build on the legacy of its establishment.
We hope to see you there.

SOL Service 2024
SOL Service will conclude on Monday 4 November this year with all registration of service to be finalised with homeroom/class teachers by Tuesday 5 November. All service needs to be signed and the reflection questions on page 23 of the College Diary need to be submitted. Any service that is not on the documents sent out this year (these can be found on the TASS Parent Lounge and on each year cohort’s CANVAS page for students) will be discounted and thus service may not be completed. Each student will have completion and non-completion recorded on their reports and in their files. All of those who completed SOL Service will be acknowledged with a certificate, and Extra Service Awards will be presented later in the year.
Now is the time to ensure all documents have been completed, while making sure we all act with integrity and accuracy.
