School Council
Kii all,
Another term has flown past, or maybe dragged on, or possibly even strolled by, I am sure there are a diverse range of experiences.
A highlight for me was checking out the TIME concerts. Wow there is some talent and enthusiasm amongst our students. On behalf of the Thornbury Primary School parents and students, we want to extend our thanks to the music teachers for your dedication and hard work in organising the Minis, Midis, and Megas concerts. Your passion for music and commitment to our children’s learning has created a memorable experience for all involved. We appreciate the effort you put into nurturing our students and making each concert a success.
NAIDOC day was a blast, it was a great experience for kids and parents alike. Thanks so much for the volunteers (especially our teachers) organising the event, successfully applying for the grant that paid the artist and food, volunteering on the day to make it such a success. I am sure it will be hard to top next year.
We also had a lovely fathers/caregivers BBQ. Social committee are reading your survey responses and it is heartening to hear how much people value the opportunity for the community to come together. We also hear you on the things to improve - there is always something - this time the hose on the big BBQ broke and slowed things down more than usual but great job on the volunteers for pushing through, we will keep trying to improve.
Social committee has some big plans for a busy term 4. These include:
Mango Drive
- mangoes are back - big 7 kg trays of mangoes for $30
- orders placed by 3rd week in October, mangoes picked up from school in December
Colour Run
- Fun run is coming back in November, this time with colour!
- We will be using a website/app service to make it easier to fundraise
TPS Summer Sessions
- We loved the concert with Mitch Tambo on NAIDOC day so much we are going to do it again, TWICE!
- After school concerts starring TPS parent artists, with fun activities and tasty food and drinks are happening in October and December.
Keep an eye on compass for details.
Twaganin,
